Radiant Heating
Comfort is the most compelling reason to consider radiant
heat. With under-floor radiant heat, temperatures are higher at floor level and
decrease toward the ceiling. And when your feet are warmer, you feel warmer all
over. Because radiant heat is installed within the entire floor surface, heat is
even-with no hot
spots. Radiant heat puts the heat where the occupants are, not at the ceiling,
as
conventional systems do. Radiant heating does not dehumidify the air, so in winter, room humidity is is more ideal. Unlike forced hot air, radiant heat will not dry
out breathing passages or
furniture. With no fans or blowers, radiant is dust-free, so it's also cleaner. Virus particles, bacteria and pet dander fall to the floor instead
of circulating constantly in the air, so your family will stay healthier in winter.
There are no hot surfaces for children to touch, and no radiators or
baseboard heating units for
them to fall on. Children cannot drop their toys and crayons into hot air ducts.
A radiant heating system is felt, but not seen or heard. There are no radiators to
interfere with furniture placement or interior aesthetics, and no
fan or blower noise. Because radiant heating
warms the occupants rather than the room, people find they are comfortable at temperature settings several degrees lower than with conventional heating systems. Lower temperatures mean lower bills.
